A huge congratulations to our Community Games U14 tag rugby team who won the Leinster Semi Final and Finals in Carlow on Sunday morning. They are now through to the All Ireland Community Games Tag Rugby Finals in Abbotstown on May 6th. Unfortunately due to so many of the the U14's lads taking part in the Community Games on Sunday the club were unable to meet the fixture with Aylemar Gaels in the Feile Competition.
A presentation night was held on Wed night for our u12 lads div 2 winners and our u14 lads league winners. A huge thank you to Kevin Byrne for presenting the medals and a special word of thanks to our U12 player Ruadhan Downey who travelled up from Kilkenny for the presentation. We wish Ruadhan and his family the best of luck in their new home.
Hard luck to our Scór Sinsear group who took part in the Leinster Finals on Sunday last in Co. Westmeath. A huge thank you to Kathleen Garrett for her Recitation "The Homecoming". Kathleen achieved a score of 87/100. Thanks also to our Leiriu Team of Mick Hanlon, Noel Dunne, Eileen Tiernan, Elaine Breslin, Paul Delahunty, Mary O'Reilly and Mary Byrne. Our Leiriu also achieved a very high score of 89/100. This was the most successful year in recent times for our club with Scor na nÓg and Scor Sinsear. Well done to everyone who took part.
The club would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the families of John (Jack) O'Shea and Anna Reddy who passed away during the week. John was a lifelong member of the club and the uncle of Colin and Ronán O'Shea current members of the senior team and Anna Reddy's sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren were and are also involved in the club. Our senior match which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday night was postponed as a mark of respect to the O'Shea family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanamacha dílis.
