Milltown Church Bicentenary Celebration

On Sunday 21st May at 2pm, Bishop Denis Nulty, will celebrate Mass to mark the Bicentenary of Milltown Church. The Mass will be celebrated at a new altar in the cemetery.
After Mass, Bishop Nulty will formally open the Heritage Centre, with local politicians and Council representatives in attendance.
Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Milltown Inn and everyone is very welcome to join in this day of celebration.

MILLTOWN TIDY TOWNS 200 years ago our village in Milltown was a very different place 1817 was 30 years before the famine and despite the hardships, the village managed to have a church built. On May 21st next Sunday , we welcome Bishop Denis Nulty to our village to celebrate Mass at 2pm to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the church and the people of Milltown. The Heritage centre will be officially opened by Bishop Denis and refreshments will be served at the Inn in Milltown afterwards. We welcome back former priests, teachers and residents who served the village very well. We invite everyone in the village and anyone who has or who has had connections to the village to come along and celebrate our village and its people. Spread the word.

Well done to all our young athletes who participated in the second day of county championship athletics in glorious sunshine at Celbridge AC. Yet again we saw great performances from all our athletes especially our younger athletes coming up to competition stage. Well done to all and congratulations to our county medal winners: Fergus Dunne 3rd U9 60m, Hayley Trant 3rd U11 Turbo Jav, Oran O'Grady 3rd U12 80m, Hannah O'Grady 2nd U16 Shot Putt, Jessica Kiernan 3rd U16 Shot Putt and 1st for the boys U13 relay team of Conor Walsh, Daniel Smal, Oran O'Grady and Dara Cosgrave with subs Darragh Kearns-McGee and Scott Carroll. Next up are the Leinster Championships. Training continues every Tuesday and Thursday in Robertstown GFC.

NaFIANNA LADIES GFC
All roads lead to Hawkfield next Saturday 20th May for our U-16 ladies County Final. Please support the girls. Our U12's and U14's are training away and leagues are underway for both.
Best wishes to our players who will receive their First Holy Communion next Saturday 20th May. Many thanks to our supporters who nominated Na Fianna in Lidl Clane, we won their recent competition of a voucher for €500 to spend in store. Registration for players expires at the end of May, please make sure your daughter is re-registered before that date. MILLTOWN GFC
Well done to our U12's who had a great win on Tuesday evening against St. Laurence's in Division 1 semi final. Milltown 1-8 St. Laurence's 0-2 Best of luck to the team and mentors in the final. Hard luck to our Senior Ladies who lost out to Ballymore in a tough match. Milltown 1-17 Ballymore 4-15.
Congratulations to our members Peter Hamilton, Isabelle Smith, Tom Murtagh, Barry Gibbons who all achieved Personal Best times and the tag rugby team of Tom Stapleton, Karl Downey, Áoife and Ciara Buckley, Maeve Lavelle, Hanna Webb, Erica Long, Ben Curran, Conor Sheerin, Hugh Hamilton, Fiachra Malone and Calum Murphy who won silver in the All Ireland Community Games Final. What an achievement. Well done to all the mentors. Thanks to everyone who supported the clothes recycling initiative in the club recently. A total of 285 was raised. Club lotto is available from Liz o Shea, John Murphy and the shop and at the clubhouse at training. Thanks to all who support the lotto. Thanks to everyone who supported the Dog Night on Friday.
