2017 has been a great year for our club and its members. We fielded 23 teams from U6 to Seniors in both men and women, we started hurling for the first time ever a very Historic time for our club with U6,u7 and u8 boys and girls. Our U12 won the Division 1 championship the 1st time for the men. Our Minor lads and girls both took County honors in the Championship and for the first time ever our U21 lads also added a championship title. Our Gaelic4mothers and other taking part in the All Ireland Blitz. Our village school contested county finals in boys and girls with the boys winning but unfortunately the girls loosing by a heartbreaking point. We have had girls from all age groups representing the club at county level from U12 to County. We have had a representative on the lads U16 county team with many lads taking part in the development squads also. Some going from a small village. We also won Club of the Year in Senior Scór back in the spring, with county titles in the Novelty Act, Recitation & Solo Singing, and just a few weeks ago our Scór na nÓg representatives took home county glory in the Novelty Act, Recitation and Ballad Group. Off the field of GAA our members continued to bring their skills to other sports with All Ireland community games medals for Art and Tag Rugby. Successes in Equestrian representing Ireland. Success in Cross Country, Rugby and Soccer. Our Ladies Minor Captain won a Garda Youth Award and another Minor Ladies member won the Pramerica Spirit of the community award for their voluntary work. And we go out the year on a high with news that 2 of our young ladies U16’s are representing the club and the county on the Ireland Deaf Women’s Futsal Competition next weekend in Amsterdam. We are so proud of you all. 2018 is definitely a year to look forward with the granting of planning permission for our new adult pitch, children’s pitch and walking track.
