Hard Luck to the U/16s losing out to Carbury the Div 2 league final. Well done to the panel, mentors and all involved with the team. Best of luck for the Championship.

U14 league started on Wednesday 7 May. Team 1 played Eadestown at home in Allenwood and won on a score line of Aylmer Gaels 4–09 to Eadestown 3–07. Team 2 played Sallins away and lost on a score line of Sallins 1–11 to Aylmer Gaels 2–01.

Fixtures: U14 League Div 1: Wed 14 May, Aylmer Gaels away to Maynooth at 7.15.

U14 League Div 6: Wednesday 14 May, Aylmer Gaels home to Sarsfields at 7.15.

U14 Feile Fund Raising is ongoing at the moment, with raffles, cake sales, coffee mornings all being organised to fund the trip west to Connaught at the end of June.

Monster Auction will take place in the Travellers’ Rest, Littletown on Friday 23 May. Lots of items. Please support.

Allenwood bowling club

The club is seeking new members, young or old, no age limit, male or female. Contact: 087 2386518


Football: Best of luck tothe senior squad and their management in the championship this Sunday 11 May when they take on Monasterevin at 1.15pm. The senior team had a very impressive win over Rathangan Wednesday 30 April. Senior Bs play Round Towers Monday May 12May at 7.30pm away.

Kildare GAA race day in Punchestown on Saturday 17 May. Admission €20 (with €10 to the club if purchased in advance). Contact any committee member.

Underage discos on 30 May. Well done to the Aylmer Gaels U16 team on reaching their league final. Sadly, they were beaten by a strong Carbury side. Best of luck in the championship. All Allenwood gear – underage up to adult – may be purchased at Colgan Sport, Monread Commercial Business Park, Naas (beside Jungle Den).

Kellogg’s GAA Cul Camps for underage takes place in Allenwood GFC from 7–11 July inclusive. Contact Lorraine at 087 1313219.

Allenwood underage 24-hour walk and BBQ takes place in Allenwood GFC on 15 June.

Bingo in Allenwood every Wednesday.


Underage Skills Night will be held every Friday night at 7.15pm and training Sunday morning at 12.30pm. The club is accepting any unwanted clothing, shoes, handbags etc. (bagged). Please bring to underage training.

SFL Div 5 Monday 19 May, Ballyteague v Milltown.

Kildare GAA Race Day takes place on 17 May in Punchestown. Tickets are €20 and if anyone is interested please contact any committee member, as the club receives €10 for each ticket sold. Congratulations to the under 16s Ladies who won their League Final, beating Eadestown. Well done!

The under 14s started their league this week by beating Naas 5-14 to 5-10. Their next match is on Wednesday 14 May against Grangenolvin at home at 7.15pm.

Following the success of last years Field Day, it has been decided to hold one this year, on Sunday 15 June.


Hard luck to the Ladies team who lost out to Clane in the league semi final on Tuesday evening. Attention now turns to the championship. Training resumes next Tuesday at 8pm in Allenwood.

U10 training Wednesday 6.45 to 7.30pm in Allenwood.

U14 training Monday and Thursday 6 to 7pm in Ballyteague.

Membership and Registration is now due. Deadline is Friday 16 May. Remember that players are not insured if they are not registered. Payment can be made to any committee member: Catherine Murphy, Amy Ennis, Emily Jacob, Celine Brennan, Trish Higgins, Louise Dee, Roisin Murphy.

Completed Sponsor Cards for 5km run/walk should be handed back to any committee member this weekend please.
