Football: On Sun last Allenwood and Johnstown Bridge drew and met again on Wed night in Kilcock to decide who would qualify for a quarterfinal place. Final score Allenwood 0-13 Johnstown Bridge 2-10. This result sees Allenwood in round 3 play off when they meet Confey weekend Sept 5th 6th 7th.

Underage training every Friday 7-8pm.

Bingo in Allenwood every Wednesday Jackpot € 1350 in 45 numbers.

Clothes Collection Sept 27th. You can drop your unwanted clothing each Friday evening between 7-8pm in the run up to this date. Duvets and pillows are not accepted.

Table quiz in aid of Relay for life for Irish Cancer Society this Sat August 30th at 9pm in Allewnood GFC. Table of 4 €20. Please show your support for a very worthy cause.


The Minors had a comfortable win over Suncroft in the first round of the Minor B Football championship last Tuesday week.

In the second round of the championship, the Minors beat neighbours Rathangan on a score line of Aylmer Gaels 1 – 15   Rathangan 0 – 13. The match was played in Carbury on Tues last 26th August.

The third round of the championship takes place next Tues 2nd Sept, when Aylmer Gaels play Eadestown at 7.00. Venue to be announced.  See local press or the Kildare GAA website.

The U16’s will play Ballymore in Ballymore, in the semi final of the U16 B Football shield on Friday 5th Sept at 6.30.



"Strictly Come Dancing, the Launch Night!" will be held in the Travellers Rest on September 12th at 9p.m. On the night our dancers will be partnered together and tickets will be available for the main event on October 18th. Get your tickets early to avoid disappointment! Congratulations and best wishes for the future to Dermot Moran and Sharon Anderson, who were married recently. The club would like to extend their sympathies to the Phelan, Donoghue and Fitzgerald families on the sad passing of Sarah, ar dheis De go raibh si.

Registration for the new Foróige year takes place for new and existing members next Friday 5th Sept from 7.30 to 9.30pm in Milltown GFC hall. Foróige insurance is €20.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer leader, please join us on registration night, no experience necessary, as all training will be provided.

The minors came out on top Tuesday evening over a strong Caragh team. The final score was 2-15 to 3-7. They meet Grangenolvin on Tuesday 2nd.

U/16S are playing in the semi-final of the C championship on Friday 5th Sept.

The Lotto wasn’t won last Monday and is now at €8,700. Please buy a ticket and support your club. The funds made from the Lotto goes towards the day to day expenses of the club eg electricity, oil, insurance etc.

The club is taking part in the Relay for Life on the Curragh 5th & 6th September. We are inviting people to join our team during the 24hrs, you can contact Nicola 085 8417358 for details. This event is to celebrate survivors of cancer, remember loved ones who have passed away due to cancer and a chance to fundraise for much needed funds for the Irish Cancer Society.



Minor Football D Championship Round 2: Robertstown followed up their good win over Milltown in Round 1 with an impressive victory over Grange on Tuesday last on a score of 4 - 15 to 3 - 6
