Football: The U21 Championship due to begin shortly with Aylmer Gaels to meet Rathangan in the first round. Fundraiser: Allenwood GFC are joining in with the GAA National Club Draw, tickets on sale from any committee member at a cost of €10. All funds raised go to the club. There are some excellent prizes to be had with an Opel Corsa as first prize. Underage training Friday’s 7-8pm. Underage discos Friday November 6th. Bingo every Wednesday 8.30pm in Allenwood GAA hall. Bonus ball: Why not try your chances on picking the bonus ball number. It is the bonus ball from the National Lottery on Saturday nights. You can enter at a cost of €2 to win €50. Clothes Collection continuing over the coming weeks Fundraising event in Newbridge Greyhound Stadium Friday October 30th, both senior members and underage can all be involved. It will be held over the mid-term break so all the family can attend. Tickets priced at €10 per person or a family of 2 Adults 4 children €20. There will be a chance for local businesses to advertise in our programme if you are interested please contact a member of the executive committee to discuss the same.

BALLYTEAGUE GFC

Birthday wishes to clubman Donal Dempsey who celebrates his 21st birthday this week. Slimming World will begin on October 6th at 7.30p.m downstairs in the clubhouse. BRIDGEWOOD CELTIC

Well done to the boys who beat Thomastown FC on penalties 4-2 on Sunday. A great day was had by all. Home this Sunday to Spa Utd FC at 11am in the LFA Junior Cup Round 2. All support welcome.

MILLTOWN GAA

After many years Milltown have a minor team in a county final, having beaten New Gaels (a combination of neighbours Robertstown & Caragh) 2-11 to 2-9 last Saturday. They will meet either Ellistown or St. Kevin’s. Anyone who has flags or buntings, please put them out to show your support for this young team. Congratulations to Milltown Tidy Towns, who did so well this week. The village is looking smashing and many thanks have to go to Jack Dunne and his team of hard workers.

NA FIANNA LADIES GFC

All teams are training away, new players welcome. Minor League is scheduled to start on the 10th October. U-15’s team had a good win over Kildangan/Nurney last Tuesday night.U-11 team 1 drew against Robert Emmetts 1. Great display of football girls, keep up the good work. Hard luck to Mikaela and Rachel and the Kildare Senior Ladies team in their All Ireland Intermediate Final defeat last weekend to Waterford. Best wishes to our Senior Ladies team goalie Aileen Taaffe and Alan Wright the best of luck on their Wedding Day next Saturday 10th October. Our Next fundraiser will be a Clothes Collection, for our club, for some much needed funds, time and venue to be confirmed.

ROBERTSTOWN GFC

Robertstown GFC Minor Football D Championship Semi-Final Newtown Gaels 3-9 Milltown 3-11. We wish Milltown the Best of Luck in the Final. Under 13 Football League Div. 2 Rathangan 2-4 Newtown Gaels 1-7. Semi –Final: Newtown Gaels at home to Leixlip to-day Sunday at 10a.m. 12 Hour Walkthon on Sat 7th Nov in the club grounds from 9.a.m. to 9p.m. in aid of our Under-Age. Live music and refreshments in Welds afterwards. Sponsorship Cards are available from any Committee Member National GAA Raffle: Tickets €10 each available from any Committee Member. Croke Park are putting up all the Prizes so every Euro collected stays in the Club Bonus Ball in aid of our Under-Age Teams, Cards are available in Mullaneys and for a stake of €2 you could win € 47.
