The arrangements for ceremonies in during Holy Week are, as follows...

Chrism Mass: Bishop Denis invites all Parishioners to the annual celebration of the Chrism Mass in the Cathedral, Carlow on Monday, March 30th at 7:30pm followed by a cuppa in Carlow College.

Parish Penitential Service will be celebrated in Allen Church on Tuesday 31st March at 7pm (Rathangan at 8pm).


Holy Thursday: Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated in:

Allen Church: at 7.30pm, and in

Allenwood Church: at 7.30pm

Children’s Mass in Milltown Church: at 5.30pm


Good Friday: Good Friday is a day of fast and abstinence. The Solemn Commemoration of the Passion will be celebrated in:

Allenwood Church: at 3pm.

Milltown Church: at 3pm.

Allen Church: at 7.30pm followed by Prayer around the Cross.

Milltown Church: – 8pm – Prayer around the Cross.

Confessions will be heard after each of these three ceremonies on Good Friday.


Holy Saturday: The Easter Vigil will be celebrated as follows:

Allenwood Church: at 8pm, and in

Allen Church: at 8pm



The Sacrament of Penance will be celebrated after Masses on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and also as follows on Holy Saturday:

Allen: 11am – 11.45am and 7pm – 7.45pm

Allenwood: 11am – 12 noon and 7pm – 7.45pm

Milltown: 12noon – 12.30pm
