The Joy of Love
Six-session Parish Conversation - Let’s Talk family – Let’s Be Family
This six-session interactive programme is a preparation for the World Meeting of families which will take place in Dublin in 2018. This programme invites parishioners to reflect on Pope Francis’ document “The Joy of Love”.
- The first two sessions deal with the reality of family life in the world today.
- The third and fourth session explores how love is lived in the family and how children are nurtured
- The fifth session explores Pope Francis’ of human fragility in the - reality of family life, and the importance to reach out to all.
- The final session explores the spirituality of hope in regards to love and marriage.
Each session lasts for approximately one and a half hours.

The Programme will take place in the Parochial House Allen beginning on Tuesday 13th February at 8 p.m. All are most welcome.

We will celebrate World day of the Sick and the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes with a special Mass and anointing of the sick in Allen Church on next Sunday, 11th February at 3pm. If you know anyone who is ill or elderly and would like to attend this special Mass, perhaps you could arrange a lift for them to and from the Church.

As part of our preparation for the World Meeting of Families we are one of the selected parishes to host 24 Hours for the Lord which will take place in Allenwood Church from 6pm on Friday march 9th and finishes with 6.30pm mass on Saturday March 10th.
We welcome everyone in the parish to come and to encourage your extended family and friends also.
If anyone would like to volunteer to pray at a selected time or to help out in any way please give your names to the committee members and the end of churches at the various weekend masses.

A Shrine to f Our Lady will be unveiled in Geraldine Behan's Yard behind the Old School on the hill in Robertstown on Saturday next, February 10th by Fr. Willie Byrne P.P. at 3 p.m. All are welcome.

Scoil Bhride Milltown Parents' Association is running its annual TABLE QUIZ Thursday evening 8th Feb 2018 at 8.30pm sharp, at the Milltown Inn. Entry fee is €40 per team of 4. All welcome to this enjoyable community night out. Great prizes for quiz winners and raffle winners! Funds raised will go towards new PE equipment for the school.

HOOLEY in the Hamlet Court: Allenwood in conjunction with Ballyteague intend having a great nights entertainment with Declan Nerney also supported by our very own talented musician Declan Aungier on Thursday March 15th in The Hamlet Court Hotel Johnstownbridge. Tickets on sale shortly at a cost of €20 book your place for a great night among friends. Operation Transformation starting Monday January 22nd through to February 26th. Allenwood GFC grounds will be lit up between7pm and 9pm for the coming weeks and we invite you the community to come and join us. This event is free to attend. Herbert Cup final between Ballytegaue and Allenwood Sat. 10th February in Ballyteague at 6pm. All proceeds will go to Aylmer Gaels. First round of the Keogh Cup Saturday 24th February at 2pm. Ballyteague have been drawn in Group B and will play Moorefield 2 at home. 'Ireland Lights Up' We are looking forward to seeing more people next Monday from 7-9 pm. Walking track lights switched on every day from 7am to 8:30am and from 5pm to 9pm.. Race on 25th February. 5k & 10k options available. More information available on the event page on Facebook. Couch to 5k will run for 8 weeks every Mon, Wed and Fri night. Cost €20. Registration 7pm. The club would like to wish Aylmer Gaels U20s and U15s the very best of luck this weekend as begin their league campaigns. Sincere thanks to Fr.Willie for celebrating mass in our clubhouse. Thanks to all who participated in the mass and who helped in any way on the night. A special presentation was made to Peter Connolly.

U20’s away to Ellistown this Sun Feb 4th at 11:30. Best of luck to all our members who have Mock Exams at present. Skills Academy continues on Sat morning at 9am in the clubhouse.
