THANK YOU
We would like to acknowledge the considerable work done each year on behalf of Allen Parish by so many people who generously volunteer their time and skills in so many ways. All involved in Parish Ministries and Parish activities, Sacristans, Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar Servers, Music and Choirs, Collectors, Counters, Stewards, Baptism Ministers, Lotto volunteers and all who support the lotto, Parish Shop, Parish Office, Church cleaners and flower arrangers and those who care for the Church grounds.
A special thanks to all who serve on the many Parish committees—Pastoral Council, Finance, Liturgy, Child Safeguarding, the Parish website team, members of school Boards of Management, those who work with youth, Pope John Paul II and Papal Awards, the Day Care and the St. Vincent de Paul, prayer, Eucharistic Adoration and spirituality groups, First Communion and confirmation parents groups and Cemetery committees.
The Parish would like to thank the many groups and clubs that enrich the life of the wider community, all the sporting clubs, residence associations, parents associations, support and recreation groups, youth groups, text alert groups, care of the elderly, scouts and guides, the Mens Shed and many more.
Welcome to all who have moved to our Parish during the past year.
This Christmas Day as we raise our glasses in celebration to welcome the birth of the Baby Jesus, le us remember individuals and families who are finding life difficult. Families who have suffered a loss or bereavement during the year and those who are elderly, alone or ill.
May the peace, blessings and joy of Christmas be with you all.

SOME THOUGHTS FOR CHRISTMAS
The greeting of Elizabeth to Mary “Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb” is a joyful welcome of the child to come. Bringing new life into the world through pregnancy and birth is one of the most awesome human experiences. How have you experienced this for yourself or in someone close to you?
The image of the pregnant Mary going a distance to visit her cousin is a symbol of willingness to look beyond one’s own needs to the needs of others. When have you witnessed that kind of generosity in others, or have been able to act in this way yourself?
