Allen National School PTA is holding a CLOTHING RECYCLING COLLECTION on Friday 14th June as a fundraiser for the school. We are looking for donations of: Clean unwanted clothes, Paired shoes, belts and handbags, Mobile phones. Please do NOT donate bric-a-brac or books. Please drop off all items to the Gym Hall in Allen N.S. Wednesday 12th June, Thursday 13th June & the morning of Friday 14th June.

COME HOLY SPIRIT: The Boys and Girls confirmed during Lent of this year will lead the Parish Community in four evenings of Prayer for the Holy Spirit on Friday evenings in Allenwood Church at 7.30pm (approximately 1 hour). Rosemary Swords, who works with youth in a Dublin Parish, will lead them, members of their Families and Parish Community in prayer, song, reflection and preparation for the Feast of Pentecost. All are welcome. (Other dates: June 14th and 21st.)

We offer a FREE and friendly phone call service which is for anyone who would enjoy receiving a phone call on a regular basis with one of our trained callers. Our aim is to try and combat rural and urban isolation and get in contact with people who may be feeling lonely and enjoy receiving a call to have a chat.

PILGRIMAGE TO LOUGH DERG - Fr.Brian will be going on pilgrimage to Lough Derg on 11th July to 13th and will remain on the Island working as a member of the Team from 14th to 20th. Cian Buckley was in action with the Kildare U20’s on Wednesday in St. Conleths Park against Dublin. Grace Murtagh was in action on Saturday with the Kildare U14’s against Meath in Portlaoise. Cliodhna Malone, Lara Curran and Lauren Murtagh were back together again playing for the Kildare Senior Ladies against Longford on Saturday in St. Conleths Park. Clothes Recycling: Don’t forget when cleaning out the presses and wardrobes to donate all unwanted clothes, bags, belts, shoes and bed linen to our Clothes ReCycling at the Club house. Bring the items in small bags to football training and place in the recycling bin at the clubhouse.

You are invited to a family friendly Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine on Saturday 29th. June 2019. There will be workshops on various catechisms, including YOUCAT and YouCat for Kids in St. John’s Rest and Care Centre. There will be Rosary, Stations of the Cross, Holy Mass and Anointing of the Sick in the afternoon with Archbishop Eamon Martin, Archbishop Jude Thaddeus Okolo, Papal Nuncio and Archbishop Michael Neary of Tuam. Added to all of that will be the wonderful Cobh Cathedral Adult and Children’s Choirs. Not to be missed!
