ROBERTSTOWN GFC
Centenary Celebrations: Saturday last was a memorable day for the Club as they marked their centenary. A full day of celebrations began at 1 p.m. in the Club Grounds with fun and entertainment for all the family, followed by Mini Games for all our young players who were presented with special commemorative centenary medals. There followed an unveiling and naming ceremony of the Club Grounds. The Club considered this to be an appropriate occasion to honour the man who, for over 50 years, has been the heart and soul of the Club and indeed of the entire local community. The Robertstown GFC grounds will now be fittingly named Maurice Musgrave Park. Fr. Willie Byrne then celebrated Mass in the Gym for all past and present members and supporters. Later that evening members and, players, past and present were joined by sponsors and invited guests at a centenary Dinner Dance in the Osprey Hotel in Naas. A book published by the Club to celebrate its 100 years was launched . The book, entitled "The Town a Centenary History” is on sale in the local shops or from any Committee Member at a cost of € 15. Astro –Turf Pitch: is available to all Clubs & Groups & for Children’s birthday parties. For bookings contact Tara Moran 085 7317697. MILLTOWN GFC
*FRIENDS OF MILLTOWN* Milltown GAA would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our FOM. We have passed €35,000 raised on the back of your generosity. To those who may want to sign up, we will be doing a door to door visit throughout the village and surrounding areas during November. For any of you outside the catchment area please contact any Development Committee member or your child’s manager directly to sign up. We hope to have positive news soon in relation to Lotto funding which means we can actually look forward to turning the sod in late Spring all going well. Sun Nov 10th in Hawkfield 2019 Tony Donohue U21 D Football Championship Final Milltown V Ellistown/St Vincent’s Throw In 16:30. Ref: Ryan Moran 2 x 10 Mins Extra Time if necessary. Our Minor Ladies were away to Kilcock on Sat 9th for their last league match. They had a great win over Athy with a score of Milltown 4-13 Athy 1-04. 2019 U17 D Football Championship Our u17 lads were at home to Confey yesterday and had a great win over St. Vincent’s in their last game Milltown 3:12 St Vincent's 1:3. Congratulations to our U15 lads who had a great win today Milltown 6:13 Oliver Plunketts (Two Mile House & Ballymore) 2:8. Míle buíochas to Nicky Cashin for working with our U10 hurlers last weekend. The lads have their last game of the league away to Celbridge today Sunday. A huge thank you and congratulations to all our coaches who are attending foundation and level 1 coaching courses during the next few weeks. The club would like to extend their sympathies to the Keogh Family on the recent passing of Frank. Frank’s son Patrick is a valued member of our U14 team. Ár dheis De go raibh a anam.
