People across the diocese are warmly invited to join with Bishop Denis for a service of prayer to begin the Advent journey together in a spirit of hope. It will be streamed live from Carlow Cathedral, via, at 7:30pm on the First Sunday of Advent, November 29.
In these darkening days of winter may this time of music, scripture, inspiration and prayer help people to draw once more on the hope that comes to us through our faith in Jesus, a hope that brings the light of Christ into our lives.

Those who die in grace go but to God and God is very near”

We remember in our prayers those who have recently died.

James (Jim) Sullivan, Ballyteague, whose funeral took place on Thursday.
Ellen (Nellie) O'Neill (née McNamee) Prosperous, whose funeral took place on Thursday.
May they rest in peace.

November List of the Dead: Please return your November list of the dead (purple envelope). Your envelope can be put through the letter box in the Parish Office or the Parochial House or can be dropped into the collection box at the back of the Church (these are emptied daily). Your lists will be placed on the altar and remembered at all Masses during the month of November.

Almighty and eternal God,
our refuge in every danger,
to whom we turn in our distress,
in faith we pray:
look with compassion on the afflicted,
grant eternal rest to the dead, comfort to mourners,
healing to the sick, peace to the dying,
strength to healthcare workers, wisdom to our leaders
and the courage to reach out to all in love,
so that together we may give glory to your holy name.

Did you know that you can help Allen Parish to reclaim thousands of euro at no extra cost to you through the Charitable Donation Scheme.
