Masses for Christmas Day, Christmas Octave and Christmas Season A maximum of 3,225 People Can Attend Mass During the Christmas Season 25th December – 10th January There is a desire among many of our Parishioners to come to the Church for Mass on Christmas day but due to the government restrictions a maximum of 150 people can attend each Mass in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Allenwood. So, a total of 750 people will be able to attend on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The Christmas Season continues with the first eight days known as the Christmas Octave, originating from the time of the Resurrection when Jesus appeared to the disciples on the first Sunday and then eight days later he appeared to them again. During the eight days of the Christmas Octave the joy and peace of Christmas morning is celebrated and concludes on the 1st of January with the Feast of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. During these Octave days another 1050 people could attend Mass. From the 2nd of January to the Baptism of Jesus on Sunday the 10th of January, the conclusion of the Christmas Season which includes the Epiphany, a total of 1425 could attend Mass.

CHRISTMAS MASSES For the health and safety of all Parishioners, the Priests, the Sacristans and our vulnerable neighbours and friends, we must adhere strictly to the government regulations on social distancing. The capacity of Allen Church is 45 socially distant places and the capacity of Milltown Church is 28 socially distant places while Allenwood Church can comfortably accommodate up to 150 socially distant places. For this reason all Christmas Masses will be celebrated in Allenwood Church. We will have five Christmas Masses to ensure that any parishioner who wants to attend Mass can safely do so. We ask that you contact the Parish Office in advance to book your place so that we can make sure that none of the Masses are oversubscribed.
